Autosmart says goodbye and good luck to retiring franchisee Brian Marshall after 19 years
“It has been like being in a social club and being paid for it!” says Brian Marshall on reflection of his time at Autosmart. In 1998, Brian decided that he wanted to be his own boss and relocate back to the West Country from Kent. The Autosmart franchise
Alongside being his own boss and having greater earning potential than ever before, Brian had not accounted for the strong relationships and comradeship that he was going to strike up with other distributors. Right from the start, the Autosmart team and his fellow franchisees shared information, knowledge and provided someone to talk to if help and guidance were needed. As a result of this, close and long lasting friendships have been formed.
Brian has many fond memories, so many in-fact that he “wouldn’t know where to start.” “It has been a laugh from start to finish” said Brian and as it gets closer to his leaving date, he did say to John Nickels, the new franchisee who will be taking over the area, “I’m not sure I’m letting you have the showroom keys!”
Whilst introducing John to the customers on Brian’s area, Brian realised how many of his customers he had retained from his very first day. He puts much of this success down to his love of people, the excellent service that he has provided, the fantastic Autosmart products and the support and advice he has offered.
So, Brian is retiring 19 years to the day, 9th February, with mixed emotions. He will be filling his time with dancing and singing, messing around with Ford Anglias and riding his motor bike.
Here at Autosmart, we wish Brian the very best of luck and remind him that he is an honorary member of our social club.
